MCP and PSO Promise Thrilling 2018-2019 Season!

The Mendelssohn Choir‘s artistic partners, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, just released their 2018-2019 performance season, and as usual, the season is filled with exciting choral performances.  The MCP begins the Mellon Grand Classics season in November 2018 with a performance of Gustav Holst’s The Planets, then returns in December for a performance of Haydn’s Mass in C Major, “Mass in Times of War,” and Handel’s Messiah, both under the baton of PSO Music Director Manfred Honeck.  March 2019 finds the MCP performing Berlioz’s epic La Damnation de Faust.  The MCP closes the season with the PSO in June 2019 with a live recording of Beethoven’s epic Symphony No. 9.  The MCP will announce the rest of their self-produced season in the spring.
