2022-2023 Season and Auditions
For the 2022-2023 season at Third Presbyterian Church, we will continue to comply with the current safety guidelines as proposed by the CDC, the PA Department of Health, and the Allegheny Health Department, as well as the safety guidelines implemented by Third Presbyterian Church and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh’s COVID-19 policies. Please know that we will update this website and send out communications when and if the situation changes.
Note: For the 2022-23 season, The Mendelssohn Choir and Junior Mendelssohn Choir requires all singers and staff to be vaccinated. You will be asked to present proof of vaccination via photo or scan should you be accepted into the choir.
All auditions for this season will be virtual. These auditions will be reviewed on a rolling basis from May 15-August 15.
All interested in auditioning must fill out this audition form.
- Record yourself singing your audition piece, either a capella or with piano accompaniment. Please choose a song from the classical realm, i.e., an art song, opera aria, etc., NOTHING THAT REQUIRES BELTING.
- Record yourself singing your voice part in this short choral excerpt.
- Upload this video to an unlisted YouTube link.

Rehearsal and Performance Dates:
As always, rehearsal and performance dates are subject to change.
All rehearsals and the performance will be held at Third Presbyterian Church, 5701 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
Rehearsals will be held MONDAY NIGHTS at Third Presbyterian Church from 6:30pm-9pm, unless otherwise indicated.
Season retreat: Sunday, August 28 – 1:00pm-5:00pm
August 29 – 6:30-9pm
September 12, 19, 26 – 6:30-9pm
October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 – 6:30-9pm. NOTE: October 10 will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Shadyside.
November 7, 14 – 6:30-9pm
Dress rehearsal: November 18 – 6:30-9pm
Concert: Sunday, November 20 – 4pm
