Mendelssohn Choir Cabaret Puts Audiences in a New York State of Mind!

Saturday March, 22 might have been chilly outside, but it was anything but chilly in the second floor lounge of Olive or Twist!  It was standing room only as the crowd waited for singers to take the stage at the Mendelssohn Choir’s recent New York, New York Cabaret!  The evening’s theme was inspired by the Choir’s forthcoming trip to NYC to perform at Carnegie Hall with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  Choir members entertained the crowd with a wide variety of musical numbers including a barbershop quartet (“Coney Island Baby”), a medley of West Side Story favorites arranged by our very own Robert Page, and “Give My Regards to Broadway.” Anna Singer, emcee extraordinaire, also became the evening’s auctioneer helping the Mendelssohn Choir raise funds for its choral and educational programming.
