2024-2025 Season and Auditions
For the 2024-2025 season at Third Presbyterian Church, we will continue to comply with the current safety guidelines as proposed by the CDC, the PA Department of Health, and the Allegheny Health Department, as well as the safety guidelines implemented by Third Presbyterian Church and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh’s COVID-19 policies. Please know that we will update this website and send out communications when and if the situation changes.
Note: The Mendelssohn Choir and Junior Mendelssohn Choir requires all singers and staff to be fully vaccinated (at minimum, full vaccination plus one booster). You will be asked to present proof of vaccination via photo or scan should you be accepted into the choir.
Auditions:
In-person audition dates for the upcoming 2024-2025 season are Wednesday, May 29, 2024, 4-8pm and Monday, July 22, 2024, 1-5pm.
All interested in auditioning must fill out this audition form.
All auditionees MUST:
- Bring one audition piece, either a capella or with piano accompaniment. Please choose a song from the classical realm, i.e., an art song, opera aria, etc., NOTHING THAT REQUIRES BELTING. Your audition selection should be in a three-ring binder (or a book) for our accompanist.
- Be prepared to sing your voice part in this short choral Audition Excerpt Schubert Mass in G. The following links are voice part reviews for the audition excerpt: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass.
- Be prepared to exhibit your vocal range with a short exercise.

2023-2024 Rehearsal and Performance Dates
As always, rehearsal and performance dates are subject to change.
All rehearsals, the retreat, and the performance will be held at Third Presbyterian Church, 5701 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
Rehearsals will be held MONDAY NIGHTS at Third Presbyterian Church from 6:30pm-9pm, unless otherwise indicated.
Season retreat: Saturday, August 24 – 1:00pm-5:00pm
August 26 – 6:30-9pm
September 9, 16, 23, 30 – 6:30-9pm
October 8, 14, 21, 28 – 6:30-9pm NOTE: October 8 is a TUESDAY
November 4, 12, 18 6:30-9pm NOTE: November 12 is a TUESDAY
Dress rehearsal: Thursday, November 21 – 6:30-9pm
Concert: Sunday, November 24 – 4pm
