Beethoven’s Missa solemnis

We regret to inform patrons that due to health concerns regarding COVID-19, the Pittsburgh Symphony has cancelled this production of Missa solemnis.

Under the baton of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Music Director Manfred Honeck, the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and PSO perform Beethoven’s Missa solemnis.  Composed from 1819 to 1823, the Missa solemnis premiered in April 1824 in St. Petersburg, Russia, and is widely considered to be one of Beethoven’s crowning achievements in music.
