Carmina Burana

Join the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Manfred Honeck for a night of memorable music!  Based on 24 of the poems found in the medieval collection Carmina Burana, this 20th-century choral masterpiece has been heard countless times in film, television and even at professional sports events. Mendelssohn Choir countertenor Andrey Nemzer will sing the tenor solos during Carmina Burana. Also on the program, Beethoven’s Overture to Fidelio, and the world premiere of Pittsburgh composer Robert Stock’s Sixth Symphony.
