BeethovenFest: The Immortal

The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Pittsburgh Symphony Music Director Manfred Honeck, perform Ludwig van Beethoven‘s beloved Ninth Symphony.  Beethoven included a chorus in his Ninth Symphony, setting a text by Friedrich Schiller to music, and uniting both orchestra in choir in harmony.  The concert will also include Beethoven’s only concerto for violin, Concerto in D Major for Violin and Orchestra, Opus 61, performed by violinist Christian Tetzlaff.
