Coronation Mass, Unfinished Symphony and Emperor Concerto

The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, led by PSO Music Director Manfred Honeck present Mozart‘s Mass in C major, or “Coronation Mass.”  Mozart was commissioned to write this Mass while he was in the Archbishop’s service in Salzburg.  He composed the Mass for Easter Sunday, 1779.  The concert also features Beethoven‘s “Emperor” Concerto, performed by pianist Yuliana Avdeeva, and Schubert‘s “Unfinished” Symphony.
